ELEMENT
is a workstation system designed by
Christopher Sykes M DES(RCA) , a designer
with over 20 years experience in Furniture
design.
|
It
has been designed to fulfill the following
important needs of modern offices.:
- Provide a high degree of flexibility
to allow reconfiguration.
- Capability to construct both full height cabins
& low height workstation.
- Capacity to support very high volumes of
power communication and data cabling
with due separation.
-
Allow creative use of vertical space
available.
- Allow
rapid installation on site.
- Provide
easy access to wiring to permit
repairs and maintenance within an
operational office.
- Allow
low cost décor change.
|
 |
The
first stage of installation involves
only the bare framework of the wall
which allows uninterrupted access
for electricians to lay cable lines
and install outlets .When all cabling
is completed, the fascia tiles and
worktops are installed
|

|
FRAMES |
|
ELEMENT
frames are fastened by rivets to provide
excellent rigidity. They are powder
coated to a thickness of 40-50 microns.
All
frames are machined to provide channels
for passage of wires and slots for
cantilevering storages and worktops.
They are joined to each other with
standard M6 fastners.
Frames
are supplied in a uniform thickness
of 75 mm preassembled in 4 heights
-single module (525 mm);two module
high (1135 mm);two and a half module
high(1400 mm)and three module high(1600
mm).
|
The
ELEMENT framework is extremely stable
and does not need any grouting on
the floor except for long unsupported
walls, which require a return frame
at the end.
ELEMENT
framework allows configuration of
differing heights within the same
workstation to give a staggered look.
Each frame except 'Single module high'
is supplied with a skirting with 12
mm leveling bolts which allow 50 mm
adjustment. The leveling bolts are
concealed by skirting plates |
|
|
CORNER POSTS
 |
ELEMENT
frames are joined at the corners by
means of heavy aluminum connectors
which accept standard M6 screws.
The
exposed corner is then capped off
with an extruded snap -on-cover.
The
connections are extremely rigid with
no possibility of any angular movements.
The
posts are available for 90',135',
and 180' connections between two,
three or four frames .It is also possible
to combine frames of different heights.

FASCIA
TILES : |
 |
Facia
tiles are available in 8 types:
Fabric Wrapped
, Pre -lam , Pinnable , Veneer , Painted
,Accoustic , Fabric Wrapped Steel
& Painted Steel.(High pressure
laminates on tiles can be offered
as an option).
Facia
tiles are attached to the frame by
a unique patented clip-on system which
although hidden ,can be easily unlatched
with flat blade tool for removal .
However without deliberate action,tiles
do not come out.
All
tiles are fitted with gaskets to the
frames to minimize sound and dust
transmission .Pinnable boards are
prefitted with support frames to add
rigidity.
The
use of laminated board ensures negligible
warpage, Close dimensional tolerances
giving a pleasing & uniform appearance
and extremely smooth edges.

ELECTRICAL
: |
 |
In
the ELEMENT system the normal delivery
points for power and data are at three
different positions , above the worktops
,(as shown in figure),at knee level
and at skirting.
The
beltline delivery & knee level
delivery consists of three parts.
Power
Beam: To accommodate wires and switches,
switch plates are directly mounted
on this section while with the help
of M3 self tapping screws which slide
in the groove provided in the section
.
Power
beam thickness is half the frame width
such that switches can be provided
either on one or both sides by using
one or two power beams fitted back
to back.
Switch
Board Plate: These are supplied with
cutouts corresponding to MK make switches
.They are also available for AT &
T (RJ11&RJ45)outlet .Each cutout
accommodates 3 Modules and each cover
plate comes with standard 3 cutouts
on left & one on right side. Switches
are flush mounted. Special switches
can also be custom fitted on the cover
plate and / or on tiles. Switches
are not supplied with switch board
plates and have to be provided by
the client.
These
slots are covered with ELEMENT blank
plates which come factory fitted as
standard. Specific requirement of
the client have to be indicated at
the time of ordering. Cover sections
can be attached on one or both sides
of frame wall.
|
Cable
Carriers: These are snap fitted into
the interior bottom side of center
beam of the frame to provide neat
harnessing of pass through wiring.
This
wire delivery system offers tremendous
flexibilities as it can be shifted
like any other component and does
not involve any cutouts to be made
on fasica tiles.
Wire
management is much neater as access
cables are held by cable carriers.
The
cover plate can be easily unlatched
to allow wiring repairs.
